Analysis of Hinge's Influence on Electromagnetic Shielding Characteristics of Door Gap_Hinge Knowled

Abstract:

The car door gap is one of the ways in which electromagnetic interference affects cars. In this study, the structure of the car door gap and related accessories were analyzed, and previous research results were synthesized to propose a simplified model of the car door and its attached cavity. A simulation model of a certain type of sedan was established in HFSS software based on the size parameters of the front door. The electromagnetic field shielding effectiveness was investigated by gradually increasing the span of the door hinge, considering mechanics, vibration, and noise in the door design. The results showed that the change in hinge span had little effect on shielding effectiveness below 650MHz, but had a significant impact above 650MHz. This research provides a reference method for improving the electromagnetic compatibility performance of automotive electronics.

With the increasing use of electronic devices in modern automobiles, automotive electronic technology has become an important indicator of technological advancement in the automotive industry. However, these electronic devices also produce electromagnetic radiation interference, which can cause interference to receiver equipment outside the vehicle and affect the normal operation of sensitive electronic equipment inside the vehicle. Shielding is a common method to improve the electromagnetic compatibility performance of electronic equipment. The car door gap provides a path for external electromagnetic radiation interference to enter the car, as well as leak electromagnetic radiation from inside the car. The presence of hinges and door locks on the door can affect the electromagnetic shielding effectiveness. Therefore, it is important to study the influence of door hinges and door locks on the electromagnetic coupling characteristics of the gap.

Car Door Model Simplification and Structural Analysis:

A simplified model of the car door was established based on the parameters of a certain type of sedan passenger car. The gap structure of the simplified model was divided into segments to improve calculation efficiency. The model considered the electromagnetic shielding characteristics of the door gap, with the window part of the model filled with an ideal conductor. The simulation model was established in HFSS software, which is widely recognized in the industry for electromagnetic field design and analysis.

Calculation Simulation of Car Door Gap:

The simulation model was used to analyze the electromagnetic shielding effectiveness of the car door gap at different hinge positions. The results showed that below 650MHz, the change in hinge span had little effect on the shielding effectiveness. However, above 650MHz, the shielding effectiveness varied significantly depending on the hinge span. The electric field shielding effectiveness was lower than the magnetic field shielding effectiveness.
